Following a deal with Karan Johar’s Dharma Production earlier this week, the ecommerce giant, Amazon (Twitter: @amazon) has sealed another licensing deal with T-series( Twitter: @TSeries), a music label owned by Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited for its Prime Video segment that is expected to launch in India this November.
As per the contract, Amazon Prime Video will get exclusive rights for upcoming content to be launched by T-series including music videos and movies. The studio has nine upcoming films including Tum Bin 2, Noor, Chef, Raabta, Simran, Hindi Medium, Wajah Tum Ho, Yaariyan 2 and Hate Story 4 and has 17 other films in different stages of production which will be exclusively available on Amazon Prime Video few weeks after their release in the theatres and prior to their television premiers.
Over the last couple of months, Amazon has been vigorously trying to build partnerships with production houses. Amazon’s deal with major production houses like Dharma Production, Vishesh Films and now, T-series is sure to bring other major production houses tumbling into its kitty.
